BUCHANAN COUNTY, Mo. – Charges were filed Tuesday, against a St. Joseph woman accused of accidentally suffocating her child.
Doris Koon, 21, was charged with 
one count of endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree. Police say Koon had been drinking before falling asleep on a couch with the infant. Witnesses say the child was dead when it was found under Koon on Monday morning. The baby was not yet three months old.
Arraignment is scheduled for Friday morning in Buchanan County.
