CALLAWAY COUNTY, Mo. – An escaped inmate from Callaway County was found dead after a long standoff with law enforcement Wednesday.
The Callaway County 
Sheriff’s Office said deputies believed they saw Seth MacVittie at a home on Primrose Lane Wednesday afternoon. MacVittie escaped from the Callaway County Jail on Friday of last week. Law enforcement set up a parameter around the house and attempted to contact MacVittie. Other occupants of the home were able to leave the home safely.
Around 11:00 last night, SWAT members entered the home and found MacVittie deceased. The cause of death is not being released at this time.
