BATES COUNTY, Mo. – An ATV crash in Bates County was fatal for an elderly Adrian resident Tuesday night.
Around 8:00 last night, Monroe C. Gilbert, 80, was 
westbound at 8754 Northeast County Road 12,254 when he lost control, went down a hill and struck a fence. The vehicle returned to the roadway, traveled off the right side and struck a tree.
Gilbert was pronounced dead at the scene.
