MILLER COUNTY, Mo. – A woman is dead after a disturbance at a residence in Miller County early Saturday morning.
Deputies responded to a man with a gun call from 18 Emery Road in Rocky Mount just before 4:00 a.m. yesterday (Sept. 5). Officers entered the residence through an open door and encountered Terry Ewens, 57, who threatened the deputies with a gun. A 71 year old woman was found unconscious as officer retreated to a safe location. They carried the woman out. Another woman escaped through a garage.
SWAT entered the home when Ewens began to assault an 82 year old man inside. Ewens was taken into custody for suspicion of assault. The 71 year old unconscious victim died later at a local hospital.
An autopsy has been requested.
