MORGAN COUNTY, Mo. – A driver is dead and his passenger remains in serious condition after a rollover crash in Morgan County Saturday afternoon. 
Around 4:15 p.m. a mechanical failure caused Billy D. Scrivner, 61, to travel off Highway 52, 700 feet West of Buttercup Road. Scrivner and his passenger, Penny Houston, 55, of Smithton were not wearing seat belts when the vehicle overturned several times.
Houston was transported to Capital Regional Hospital but Scrivner was pronounced at the scene.
