Man missing following boat collision found dead underwater

UPDATE:  4:30 p.m. – The body of a Eugene resident has been recovered after going missing in the aftermath of a boat crash over the weekend.

Missouri Highway Patrol said the body of Jason Russell, 39, was pulled out of 80 feet of water around 4:30 p.m. Sunday. The crash, between two boats injured several other occupants in the Osage Arm of Lake of the Ozarks in Miller County.

MILLER COUNTY, Mo. — A man is missing and five people are injured after a head on boat collision in Miller County Saturday night.

The Missouri Highway Patrol report indicates that 39-year-old Jason C. Russell, of Eugene, is missing from a boat which was headed downstream, operated by 37-year-old Bradley Siebeneck, of Holt Summit.

Siebeneck’s watercraft collided with an upstream-bound boat operated by 59-year-old Kelly Wise, of Atlantic, Ia. One of two other passengers in Siedeneck’s boat suffered serious injuries while a passenger in the Wise boat received moderate injuries.

All others involved suffered minor injuries.
