COOPER COUNTY, Mo. – A date has been set to schedule a preliminary hearing in a Cooper County manslaughter case.

George Walter Black, 34, of Boonville will appear by video for the January 15, 2019 hearing. Black, who was an inmate the at Boonville Corrections Center, is accused of killing another inmate in October, by striking the man, causing him to fall and hit his head. The victim was pronounced dead at University Hospital in Columbia.
Black is charged with involuntary manslaughter in the first degree.
